material air
"material air" (2024) is a guided improvisation score exploring suffocation through four physicalized experiences. Through collaboration with the performers, the film demonstrates different relationships to physical and emotional constriction, embodied through tactile materials: string, bubblewrap, cellophane, and aluminum foil. The movement visits feelings of being bound, decorated, insulated, hurt, and shielded by the materials. As the film progresses, we watch the dancers react to their own restraint as well as their clashing interactions with others' materials against their own. This flux between tension and comfort is created in the dancers' responses of being harmed or protected by one another, finding the line between invasion and safety.

the elephant in the room
“The Elephant In The Room” (2022) is a collaborative improvisational score between mover Kierstyn Edore and pianist/composer Joey Edore. "the elephant in the room" celebrates the magical marriage of improvisational music and movement in a simplistic, traditional setting; It aims to strip away all elements aside from the artists and the instrument. The creators find play within different tempos, keys, spaces, and intentions. Video editing by Kierstyn Edore.
